The key responsibility of this role is to provide high quality management accounting and administrative support on a wide range of activities across the Group delivering capacity benefits to Central Services and branches. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Supporting the production of monthly and quarterly management reporting packages within required deadlines.
  • Manage balance sheet movement and preparation of accurate balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Manage accruals, prepayments and fixed asset registrars monthly.
  • Strong understanding of how profit and loss flows through to balance sheet.
  • Ability to manage month-end tasks and keeping up with deadlines to ensure targets are met.
  • Prepare cashflow forecasts and cashflow reports on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • General understanding of the Australian tax system.
  • Strong understanding of inter-company transactions and recharge/settlement procedures.
  • Day-to-day book-keeping and general accounting using ERP software.
  • Bank account reconciliations and provision of supporting documentations
  • Supporting accounts payable and payroll functions.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to the development of work, management and quality control processes.
  • Contribute to the development and documentation of process maps, procedures and policies to support consistent work practices and training material for the Group
  • Contribute to program of continuous improvement

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong technical accounting and statutory reporting experience
  • Strong understanding of financial controls, budgeting and forecasting methods
  • Highly IT literate ideally with experience using more than one accounting package
  • Experience with D365 ERP system is highly advantageous.
  • Experience in financial services or insurance industry advantageous
  • Experience multi-tasking in a high-volume environment
  • Honesty and discretion
  • Experience in group level company transactions.
  • Must have month end exposure and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem skills
  • Clear English communicator with the ability to explain/present complex financial data in a clear way
