JOB OVERVIEW

The ideal candidate for the experienced AWS Platform DevOps position specializes in implementing and operating systems designed to proactively detect performance issues across various metrics, ensuring they are addressed before impacting the user experience.


Key skills include expertise in monitoring and alerting tools within the AWS ecosystem, a strong understanding of performance metrics such as background workers/processing queue load and processing times, front-end loading times, and the availability and response times of key subsystems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists in defining automated monitoring, deployment and repair strategies using a wide variety of Ops tools and monitoring platforms.
  • Builds and maintains tools for deployment, monitoring and operations as well as troubleshoots and resolves issues.
  • Assists with the Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes and mentors teams to assist with improving their processes.
  • Makes sure build and deployment processes are following known best practices.
  • Assists with the management and performance of the infrastructure and deployment of applications.
  • Evaluates third party software tools and libraries for enterprise needs with risk management.
  • Diagnoses, isolates, and debugs application problems and performs problem resolution.
  • Monitors systems capacity and performance to allow for scaling of high performance as necessary.
  • Performs other duties as required.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • The candidate should have a proven track record in setting up practical monitoring solutions of systems based on AWS that provide real-time insights and automated alerts for potential performance bottlenecks.
  • Experience with automation and CI/CD practices is crucial to facilitate quick and efficient resolution of identified issues.
  • This role requires a candidate who is adept at working in a collaborative environment, with a minimum of 3 days in the office per week and the option to work remotely for 2 days, ensuring a balance between team collaboration and individual focus.
  • The ideal candidate is proactive, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high performance and availability standards in cloud-based applications.
